    Village: Korinyang

    Korinyang has a population of 3900 nomadic pastoralists. The village is known through the worship of superstition such as witch doctors, demonic spirits, and reading information from animal intestines.

    However, the economical activities of the area are small scale farming, sale of livestock products and animals, burning of charcoal, and fire collections.

    Church Progress:

    As the result of the witnessing campaign of Johnson Ewoi in Korinyang village, he has managed to reach out to 29 men, 40 women, 15 youth, and 42 Sunday school children for Christ.

     


    Updates from the field:

    July 2019

    In June, Missionary Johnson shared the Word of God again with the Village of Korianyang and 3 people accepted Christ. He is discipling a class of 7 believers. 110 believers attend the Sunday services. Johnson is grateful for the continued prayers and support.


    June 2019

    In June, Missionary Johnson shared the Word of God with the Village of Korianyang. 5 people accepted Christ and he baptized 24 people. He is discipling a class of 21 believers. 203 believers attend the Sunday services. Johnson is grateful for the continued prayers and support.


    April 2019

    The average attendance for Sunday services for April was 173. Five new members were added this month. They did an outreach to a nearby village and two people gave their lives to Christ. There are currently 14 people attending discipleship classes this month. In the daughter church of Lotonguna around 30 people attended services. They are looking at doing an outreach to the village of Kanaodon in the near future.

    Prayer Needs

    – Gospel to spread in all part of Turkanaland

    – God’s protection to missionaries and their families while in ministry

    – God to provide financial break through for a motorbike purchase to use in ministry

    – Provision of an Adult Literacy Teacher

    Challenges

    – Severe drought affecting most parts of the Turkanaland

    – The means of transport is challenging

    – Illiteracy level is high in our area

    – Insecurity within our borders

    March 2019

    Johnson is a missionary to the church in Korinyang where the average attendance in March was 65. They have 14 people attending discipleship classes and 7 people have been trained as evangelists/elders to help Johnson with the work there. He also pastors a church in Lotonguna where about 60 people meet regularly for services. They added 3 new members this month. He is looking at doing an outreach in the village of Kanaodon in the near future.
