    Village: Katilu

    Katilu has a population of 3500 nomadic pastoralists. The villagers go to shrines (ngasenon) where the witch doctors are the mediums. Some common idols of worship are the stars, moon, charms, and the like. The villagers believe them as the source of life and protection.

    The economic activities of Katilu village include livestock products, agriculture, and small scale business.

    Church Progress:

    As the result of James Muchu’s witnessing campaign to Katilu Village, there are 10 adults, 5 youth, and 30 Sunday school children.

     


    Updates from the field:

    July 2019

    In July, Missionary James shared the Gospel with the Village of Kaakorilem, and 3 people accepted Christ. He prays that the finances will come through, so they can complete the construction of the church building. An average of 90 people attend church services each Sunday. James is grateful for the support he receives.

    May 2019

    In May, Missionary James Muchu prays for a financial breakthrough to complete the construction of his church’s wall. This month, an average of 62 members attended church service each Sunday. James is grateful to Share International and the sponsors.


    April 2019

    In April, the average attendance was 145. They added 4 new members this month. He now has 8 members that have been trained in evangelism to help with the ministry of sharing the Gospel to the surrounding villages.

    March 2019

    James is the Missionary/Pastor of the church in Natiira. In March, there was an average of 120 believers attending services. They added 5 new members this month. He has 5 members in the discipleship class that can freely testify/witness to non believers. He also has 6 members who have been trained as Evangelists and Elders and help him in his work.
