    With a population of more than 980, their economic activities include nomadic pastoralists and farming, while some are doing small scale business in Lopur village. The village is known for general worship of idols under the control of demonic spirits in which the witch doctors are the mediums. Some common idols of worship in the area are the stars, moon, and charms. The villagers believe them as the source of life and protection.

    Church Progress:

    As a result of evangelizing and witnessing by missionary David Ingolan, the church members and enrollment are increasing rapidly. A number of 45 adults have given their lives to Christ and worship together regularly. The number of born again youth is 15 and Sunday school children is 40.

     


    Updates from the field:

    July 2019

    In July, Missionary David shared the Gospel again with the people in the Village of Lopur. An average of 217 believers attended Sunday services this month. David is grateful to Share International for their support.


    August 2019

    In August, Missionary David ministered to the mother church and daughter churches. An average of 369 believers attended Sunday services this month. The added 16 new members this month. There are 4 believers attending discipleship classes and he has 4 evangelist/elders that have been trained to help him with the work. David is grateful to Share International for their support.

    – Spiritual maturity of the body of Christ

     

    Challenges

    – The distance of reaching out to other villages is vast and in need of motor bike transportation

    – Illiteracy in this area is high

    – Stability of the daughter churches in terms of church leadership

    June 2019

    In June, Missionary David shared the Gospel with 400 people in the Village of Lopur and 162 people accepted Christ and 62 people were baptized. He is currently discipling a class of 21 students. An average of 191 believers attended Sunday services this month. David is grateful to Share International for their support.


    April 2019

    In April the average church attendance was 161. They added 5 new members. There are currently 4 people enrolled in discipleship classes. In the daughter churches there are about 50 people attending weekly. They added 6 new members this month.

    March 2019

    David serves as the Missionary/Pastor to the village of Lopur. His average attendance on Sundays in March was 147. He saw 7 new members added to the church. They did an outreach to the village of Kagitonkori where three people accepted Christ as Saviour. There are four people attending the discipleship class in the new village. David has four men who have been trained to help him with his work of evangelism. He also serves in the following villages as Pastor: Kekunyuk, Nakebusen, and Kagitankori. These churches are about 40 km from Lopur.

    – Financial breakthrough

    – Open doors for the Gospel to reach many lost souls

    – The distance of reaching out to the villages is vast and the use of a motorbike would help
