The Story of David Imana

A formerly sponsored Child of the Kingdom is now a Child Sponsor

My name is Mr. David Kamar Imana, born in a poor family in Turkanaland, Kenya. Our family is made up of six members although I lost my mother and young sister in a tragic road accident in the late 80s. Now I have a father, sister and a younger brother. Due to our family’s poor economic status, I managed to go to school only by the grace of God and the help of sponsors through Share International’s Children of the Kingdom program. The program enabled me to complete both my high school and university education.

After completing high school, I worked for Share International for 2 ½ years on voluntary basis out of gratitude for my sponsorship over the years. God provided for my tuition and other basic necessities from elementary to through university level. Now I am studying for my master’s degree in Thailand.

God has lifted me from one glory to another. Sometimes I ask myself, “Why me? Am I not more important than others out there!” But inside me I understand God has a reason for my living and success. This is the sole reason why I decided to pay back last year by helping to sponsor three children through Share International’s Children of the Kingdom program from I now have. It is a sacrifice, by I am thankful for the opportunity to give back.
