My sister-in-law put it best when she emailed me after the Knoxville Kids’ Marathon and said, “Looks like it was a grand day with a grand finish and for a grand purpose!” Indeed it was!
I am so thankful for the generosity and love from friends and family for this 2011 Rafiki Run. Anna and Taylor ran 27.2 miles with their training and the two races, and together, we raised $1848.00! WHAT A GIFT for the ministry of Children of the Kingdom! ASANTE SANA! (Kiswahili for “Thank you very much!”)
One friend shared the following that was so inspirational, “I am the one to thank each of you … Your actions and depth of interest have been a catalyst for us to become more heavily involved in the missions efforts in out church. We have always supported the efforts at church financially but now in large part from your sharing we are on the missions committee and connecting personally with our missionaries. Thank you for spreading the love to us.”
