In Turkanaland we have something called the Deacon’s Fund which donors give to in order for our staff on the ground to use to meet urgent needs they encounter during ministry, such as hunger and emergency medical needs. Below you can see photos from the use of these funds during February and March. The needs met included helping widows, the sick, the disabled and the poor gain access to food mobility and medical care. They also included paying school fees for children whose families had suffered a loss or hardship, care for a baby and travel expenses for some who needed medical care outside of the area.
1 John 3:17-18 (ESV)
“But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth”
