Bible Pathways (BP) is a 9-session, 3-year curriculum developed by Alan Lewis of Evangelical Free Church of America’s (EFCA) mission arm – Reachglobal. Share implemented the curriculum among the Turkana pastors and missionaries of Kenya 3 years ago with the primary purpose of training them in expository preaching. The ultimate goal is that local churches will thrive under compelling sermons based on the solid foundation of the text and structure of the Word. That will result in believers who are confident and well-versed in the Truth, as they are fed through their shepherds.
The first class of 14 Turkana pastors/missionaries graduated in November 2017. They were charged with multiplying BP training to other Turkana pastors and missionaries. Throughout the program, the 6 teachers from the U.S. stressed 2 Tim 2:2 – that the students needed to be teaching other pastors the BP material, so sound expository preaching can be self-multiplying and self-sustaining throughout the churches being planted in Turkana, and beyond. The 14 pastors/missionaries have now begun working on training other pastors and missionaries, and even elders, in their respective home churches in remote villages.
Since 1997, Share has reached and planted churches among 400,000 Turkana people within a geographical region encompassing a population of 700,000. We hope to reach the total 1M Turkana population in the shortest time possible. It will cost $2,000 for Bible Pathways in 2018.
